Jo i love you, you’re my dream girl”-Rico. The saddest moment on the finale.
Jo made a wrong turn and slept with Tyler (Chris Zylka) to get over Danny. Now we know that Danny's Dad is still alive..and the kicker just might be..Danny and Jo are siblings! But we can't watch any new Twisted until January. Better start writing the fan fic!

Clipping Adam

It just might be the film that launched Evan Peters career. It's kind of one of those After School Special kind of films that was made in 2004. Even so, it really is a film with a lot of heart.

Evan stars and Adam Sheperd. Despite what he says, Adam is not "fine". The summer before freshman year should be a time full of possibilities, but Adam struggles with family tragedy, everyday teenage growing pains, and the very real threat of high school hazing. Fortunately, Adam finds allies (some likely, some unlikely) who help him repair his heartache as well as his ailing relationship with his father. Set in a small, Southern California beach town, Adam discovers the inner strength one can find with the support of a community. His story is proof of the notion that with the help of family and friends, you can always find your way back home.

Its the priest, Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) as Father Dan who listens to him. Perhaps Adam helps Father Dan in the long run too. Although, Adam, can't  say why he hasn't cut his hair since the car accident that took his Mom and little sister.

This a movie about grief. Its also a story about bullying too. Jordan Butcher plays the senior who is going around during the summer shaving soon to be Freshman boy's heads.

Honestly, its a tender movie and Evan definitely plays a very moving Adam who's dealing more with family crisis than he even knows. His grandmother played by the amazing Louise Fletcher can only do so much with a father who's failing as being a provider from the distress of losing a life he once knew.

This is a film that plays out with a certain realistic balance. Thankfully, a friend lended me a copy to watch. If you have a chance to watch it, its a great little gem. And family approved.

Clipping Adam is such a good film.
I mean it! Yes, the script doesn’t posses all the colours of participial turnovers and complex sentences, but it came out incredibly graceful and harmonious making you feel touchingly sad and delightful at the same time. I really enjoyed it.
and of course, Evan’s smile. no one could resist his adorable smile.-V

Brad Sucks

Brad Turcotte is out of Ottawa Canada.

Of course, it might be the song DIRTBAG that stuck in your head..years ago.

it’s a little bit hard to understand
but i only wanna be a modern man
on the wire it couldn’t be nicer
just thinking about the one that got away
nobody wanna give me heart away
you could make your mind up it could take your time up

it seems you’ve mistaken me for someone who cares
i’m just a dirt bag under the weather and overrated

living underground taking it to the scene
making money not knowing what it means
i’m a liar set shit on fire
take your time talking down to all your friends
living with the little dogs and elephants
it’s hard to find it but i don’t mind it

it seems you’ve mistaken me for someone who cares
i’m just a dirt bag under the weather and overrated

hitching a ride with the bugs and the flies and i’m on my own

Still its those kind of lyrics that have kept him steady with indie dance hits. Especially, with ditties like MAKING ME NERVOUS and GASOLINE. Still these tunes hold classic to indie folk. Of course, his noise in the background can almost be thought of as industrial sound at times. but its fun to hear his remixes and of course, his shows.

I’m just sitting here by myself
with next to nothing on my mind
ain’t nobody around
I’m just sitting here by myself
relaxing on the borderline

See Girl Run

This is definitely a film for any Indie movie lover. Also if you are a Adam Scott fan, you'll want to take a look at this little gem which isn't a love story. Yet, a unique take on what happens to relationship, especially when you've moved on and yet you didn't break up. And is love really enough to make it work?

Emmy (Robin Tunney) is a ripe candidate to be on a reality show about meeting a past love that you broke up with. Except, there is a loop hole in her case. "We never broke up..." But Emmy is married to Graham, who helped her get her own dog walking business in New York City. But their marriage is growing stale, and the kicker is ..one night when a romantic moment could be well on its way to happening..he casually admits that she smells like a dog.

What I liked about the film, was the segment later of  Adam Scott's Jason with co-worker Aubrey Dollar in a romantic scene that turns sour. About how predictable their sex life is. These are scenes you don't find often at the cinema.

Granted, the whole time, we do hope Jason gets together with Emmy. In spite of coming home, Emmy is definitely trying to avoid Jason.

Truly, Adam Scott's most complex character yet. He's an artist who only draws frogs, and he hasn't had much success with it. Still surviving with money from his parents. Honestly, this movie has a lot of layers. Yet, it can't be overlooked of the big picture one must look at while making life changing decisions.

Lots of strong performances in the supporting cast. Jeremy Strong plays Emmy's brother who is clinically depressed and has moved back home. I liked how it showed the family thinking they are dealing with his problem, yet his parents bicker constantly about him.

I really am glad I found this film. Its no blockbuster, but well done with the cast and script and I liked the cinematography of Maine and New York City.

Fiction Tuesday - Who knows what your Grandmother might really read..

Chance are Debbie MacComber, Sheryl Woods and Robin Carr just might be in their book bag from the library. I know, you're thinking..what about Nora Roberts? Well, everyone and their truck driving uncle read her. Still, when asked at the desk, most are looking for series like the Virgin River series or Cedar Cove.
“Though [Debbie] Macomber sells millions, it’s mostly through word of mouth. You won’t find her in The New York Review of Books. Instead, women … devour the books and then share them with friends and family — which is why Macomber’s publisher thought a weekend-long party might be a good way to attract some mainstream media attention.”-Petra Meyer
Hallmark grabbed this series for TV.

Debbie Macomber is renowned for her novels of love, friendship, and the promise of fresh starts. Still, these are stories not just about specific people, but places. Perhaps, its a gentle read to many, but there is still the high drama without it becoming Peyton Place.

There are breast cancer survivors, teenage pregnancies, and chances to begin again without it being as tragic as you might find with Nicholas Sparks or Jodi Piccoult's works.
Robyn Carr has a way of creating beautifully human, home town stories that touch your heart and make you want to know her characters more.

The Hero is a remarkable story of Devon McAllister’s escape from cult life with her small child. Taken in by the grumpy, kind hearted, Rawley, Devon begins a new life in hiding at Thunder Point. Encouraged by the friendliness of the people around her, she begins to live with the self assurance that she lost years ago to the cult.

Spencer Lawson is a recent widower. Loosing both his parents and his wife in the last year or so he is reluctant to let his heart open to anyone new…afraid he might have to suffer another loss. When he meets Devon, something clicks and a friendship slowly blossoms into more.-tome tender
Virgin River: Virgin River: WANTED: Midwife/nurse practitioner in Virgin River, population six hundred. Make a difference against a backdrop of towering California redwoods and crystal-clear rivers. Rent-free cabin included.
When the recently widowed Melinda Monroe sees this ad she quickly decides that the remote mountain town of Virgin River might be the perfect place to escape her heartache, and to re-energize the nursing career she loves. But her high hopes are dashed within an hour of arriving: the cabin is a dump, the roads are treacherous and the local doctor wants nothing to do with her. Realizing she’s made a huge mistake, Mel decides to leave town the following morning.
But a tiny baby, abandoned on a front porch, changes her plans…and a former marine cements them into place-Robyn Carr

Robin Carr's Virgin River series started with THE VIRGIN RIVER. It isn't a triology, but twelve books with an added bonus of a book of short stories about the place and who lives there.

Of course, you'll find these authors through romance publishers. But if you were to walk the shelves of the library they'd be in hard back, right in the fiction area. But if you can't find them there, check the library paperback rack.

So, next time, don't give Grandma a hard time about what she is reading. Who knows, you just might enjoy reading a book by these authors. Oh, and don't get me started with women and Cowboys. I don't know how Linda Lael Miller does it, but she just keeps popping those books out monthly..or so it seems.

The Mortal Instruments : City of Bones

OMG why don’t people adore this film?! I went to see it on Wednesday and its all I can think about! The casting was perfect !!! Especially for Jace and even though they changed parts of it I enjoyed it more than the book ! It was fucking awesome!!! All the action scenes! Badass jemima west as Isabelle light wood! The film as a whole was amazing!-Oh You Are In My Veins

STORYLINE: Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures. Based on the worldwide best-selling book series.

The critics were in a tailspin over this one. Still it came in 3rd at the box office. The film really had an amazing cast. And the acting was spot on. Lily Collins was spot on as Clary. I thought Jamie Campbell Bower was perfect for Jace too. A lot of actors tried out for the role. Alex Pettyfer, Xavier Samuels, Max Irons and Douglas Booth. I'm glad they chose Jamie for the part. The film had so much to offer in action and storytelling.

Oh..and I can't forget Robert Sheehan as Simon!

Aidan Turner goes silver to play Luke in the film. The Werewolf Father figure that Clary thought she knew.
Kevin Zegers as Alec needs honorable mention. Can I hope he gets more air time..next movie.
Godfrey Gao dazzled as Magnus Bane!
Hopefully, his hair will be short next time..but this man can make a seething villain. And I loved his scenes with Jamie.

Just saw The Mortal Instruments; City of Bones and I loved it. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact that Clary’s character didn’t stay true to the book’s description. 5’2”, red curly hair, green eyes, pale skin and freckles. Although I do love Lily Collins-Julie
So i’ve been to see City of Bones, twas quite good, definitely better than expected (mind you I was half expecting twilight level so that was a given…)-lling

I can´t stop fangirlig about how good the mortal instruments city of bones was! I just love Clary and Jace-hanna
